Some kind of communication, affects us all in a way The years of looking and listening, all leading to this day First contact celebration the time is drawing near Divides across the nation those who welcome those who fear The feeling of hope as somebody spoke and said we’re not alone here The fire in your heart that lights from the spark that someone is out there It changes today and you hope it will stay and the world will be better The things we could learn if trust we could earn from someone who’s out there A plan of propaganda to keep us all in line The thinkers and the dreamers they study every sign Beware the politician, the military man They have their own agenda, they work a different plan The feeling of hope as somebody spoke and said we’re not alone here The fire in your heart that lights from the spark that someone is out there It changes today and you hope it will stay and the world will be better The things we could learn if trust we could earn from someone who’s out there And when you look above do you see life or do you see God We are the stuff of stars, we are the one All light will come to you if you stand staring into space We are a point in time we are the one The feeling of hope as somebody spoke and said we’re not alone here The fire in your heart that lights from the spark that someone is out there It changes today and you hope it will stay and the world will be better The things we could learn if trust we could earn from someone who’s out there We are the one We are the one We are the one

It seems to me the only point of my existence Turning off the lights around the house in every single room Grumping around the place, I don’t get out as much now Don’t play guitar as often these days as I used to do Where’s all the time I used to give myself for music It’s eaten up with cleaning all the stuff around the house Worried I might offend someone with my opinion Screaming inside but outside I’m as quiet as a mouse Unblock the plug of hair although I haven’t any Checking the fridge for beer, remember drinking with the lads Although I grump I wouldn’t change the life I’m living It’s therapy to write it as the ballad of the dadz
